Sorry I haven't posted in so long! It's been such a busy and eventful time. While there has been so much going on, I've felt it hard to capture emotions exactly, which makes recapping difficult. Especially today!
Today Chris and I said goodbye to our first class(es) of students. Not ones from observations, or practicums, but our OWN. The ones we taught all year long, and whose learning and overall growth was dependent on us! It makes me think back on all of the days. . . did I teach them all they needed to learn? Did I give them the right opportunities to learn? Did I show them as much love and grace as I possibly could? Was I patient enough? The list goes on. I do really feel good about this year, but I'm not sure I'll ever be able to say I've got it all down!
I'll see the majority of my kids next year, they'll just be in grade 2. I did have to say goodbye to one of my sweet little guys though, which was sad. He was probably my lowest student academically, but boy did he make me smile ALL the time! He's the cutest thing ever. Also the one who asked me those really thoughtful questions about my mom and heaven a few months back. I'll miss him.
Today was all about having fun. I let the kids help tear down the classroom yesterday (which is the BEST job if you're a kid) so today we had a wide open space in the middle to play. I've been putting marbles in a jar this year for when the class show positive behavior. When they got all 100 marbles in the jar, I told them we'd have a party, and it just so happened to be this week. . .funny how that worked. I let them choose the theme, and of course they chose Angry Birds! So today, we played lots of games based on Angry Birds, and even ate Angry Bird cake. Check out some pictures from our day. . . sorry no captions, gotta keep packing!
There's a quick picture recap of my fun last day!
