It's been a while since I've posted anything about my class. Putri and I started a class blog to stay in touch with the parents better, and share pictures. That's been going well, but it takes time away from what/when I'd normally post here.
Last week, we took our class (along with the other grade 1 class) to a ceramics factory in Jakarta. In science, we've been learning about the properties of different materials - clay being one of them. We're always looking for fun field trip excuses :) The place was so great, and catered well to groups of students. When we arrived, they had donuts and juice waiting for the kids. From there, the kids got to play with clay and make their own creations! Enjoy the pictures!

Pisang Goreng {fried banana} yummm |
This guy cracks me up every day. . . can you see why?! |
Pound it into the mold. . . |
Scrape off the extra with a thin string. . . |
Dab around the edges to pick up the extra clay. . . |
Then pull it out of the mold! |
Final product! Everything the kids made will be painted and fired, then sent back to our school! |
So happy to have her mom come as a parent helper! |
Putri - love her! |
My creations! I'm excited to see what they look like when they get sent back! |
